Not pissed off, not at all. And I am not arguing that vaccines don't have risk. I will be the first to admit there are risks. Lots of them. Risks run everything from a local injection site reaction to a major systemic issue like Guillain-Barré syndrome - absolutely. Up to and including death. Which is why I advocate people KNOWING those risks. And I don't like the State telling people they have to treat their kids a certain way... and requiring certain treatments or vaccines, especially those that go against religious beliefs... it's a really tough line to skirt, and it's a hard thing to decide. Agreed, 100%. We've had this argument for years with Jehovah's Witnesses who oppose blood transfusions, etc. Also people who don't want to put their kids through chemotherapy. And I believe parents usually know what's in their kids' best interests.... BUT... Yeah. There's always a BUT.... I honestly don't KNOW what the answer is. Not at all. I can tell you that I KNOW that vaccines don't cause autism, and I KNOW that they are good for society as a whole, that they help reduce or eliminate infectious diseases. Yee haw. But that doesn't console the one family in a million or whatever who lose a child to a serious reaction. It is tragic, but it is expected, unfortunately. Some people are going to react badly to any kind of medicine or treatment. Or hot dog. Or bee sting. Or whatever. It happens. Doesn't mean hot dogs are bad, or bees should be eradicated. We should each use our judgement and do the best we can do.
