WILL DATES SUVIRVE OKLAHOMA WINTER

Bought some Dates that had seeds in them. Planted the seeds got 8 little Date trees. Did some research Date trees are from Sahara desert. It gets down freezing at night . Wonder if my California dates will make it through Oklahoma Winter?

Put them in a green house and you might have a shot…..put a camp stove in there in really cold nights

If the consensus is they wont survive the Winter I will bring them in the house.

Just looked it up. Palm dates are cold hardy to 28°f. But do not like wet areas

Watered them AM-PM well drained pots are growing very well, I planted 1 in sheltered area South side of pond dam . Will see how long it makes it.

We had a date tree at work it was there when i started and lasted another 10 years before it finally died and only had dates on it 1 year that i know of.

They're going to get too tall for that, eventually. The one in my dad's yard was about 80' tall. That was back in 1970, IIRC.
