I Had zero intent of ever selling this however, things happen. Good condition Winchester 1886 takedown in 45-70, rifle hasn’t been shot much and is definitely something you don’t see everyday. It’s not perfect but it’s definitely not beat up either, and it shoots exactly how you’d expect an 1886 to shoot. $1700, no trades on this one.

I don’t think I’ve acquired any Winnies that were made in this century. Once I embiggened it I could see the safety nubbin in one picture.
Winchester made them until 1935 IIRC reading correctly. They made the model 71 for like 15 or so years after that. All the remakes since for Winchester and Browning have been Japanese I think, but don't quote me.

That sounds about right. I’m perfectly good dealing with approximations. What I really need is something like this chambered in .40-65. Long story but I have plenty of that. Just can’t find one at a price I’d be willing to throw in a pickup bed, if ya know what I mean.
