I have a big winter flock that made it through just fine. My brother feeds ground corn and distillers grains to 300 head of steers along a creek bottom. It’s pretty funny to see the turkeys running right beside the steers as the come to the feed bunks. There’s probably close to 150 birds that decided this was a great place to winter.
There’s another flock south of me a few miles that would stay on the roost until about 10 each morning. Some birds even later. They picked around on any bare ground and the stand there on the snow looking cold and pitiful.
