Wifey now wants a comfortable porch swing. It cannot be really heavy as I dont have the support for it as it is in the day room. She wants to put cushions on it for her and the little dog.
Can't help you with plans, but I'd try to find some with a curved seat and rounded front edge. They're much more comfortable than flat seats with a square edge, even with cushions.

Thanks! Knowing her it'll have to be a takedown model that we can take in and out of the house.
Put casters on it and make the legs fold together enough to fit through doorways.
Hopefully it won't be upstairs...

I have the one pictured in the middle....really sits well....too bad I ran into it with a trackhoe and broke the post across the top....I plan on fixing it but haven't quite gotten around to it yet....
And, if one can find pallets, many are oak and can be utilized to make the swing.
Makes me think of this song.
