When the hurricane hit Texas a few years ago the Texas governor asked for police officers to come down and help out. I was one of many officers that got chosen to go. Went down to orange Texas and helped out the local law enforcement. They had travel trailers set up for us in a large camp by a chemical plant. Had a large fenced in area with a gate on one of the parking lots. They took good care of us. I remember the smell of dead fish, they were everywhere on the ground. Everything in the camp ran on generators. The only place in the town of orange that had power (Generators) was Walmart and a small Mexican restaurant. We would go to the Mexican restaurant from time to time and eat.
