Ok...pretty good coverage of excessive overloads and weird cargo.

Just as important, maybe more so...is unsecured cargo. "Just throw it in the back...no time to tie it down...it'll be fine"
I remember almost hitting an black recliner chair in the middle of I-35 one dark night... Seriously folks, they ought to make you get a license before you can drive on highway....oh wait...nvm.



Had the exact same thing happen to me on I 35 a few years ago, swerved to miss it...

My Pop and I used to build furniture from driftwood,,,
His pickup truck looked looked the original post picture.

Though he did have an over the cab rack with square pipe sidewalls.

One time on the way to the Tulsa fairgrounds a Highway patrolman stopped us,,,
He said at first it looked like we had a huge pile of brush in the bed.

The load was well tied down though and not protruding over the sides,,,
So he determined we weren't a hazard and let us go.

The funny thing is that he called his wife about it,,,
She came to the flea market and bought several pieces from us.
