[QUOTE="clintbailey, post: 3761315, member: 8544"] The Unlimited Outdoors Adventures charity group held our first youth turkey hunt this weekend, and had 5 youth hunters. Two of the hunters killed a bird the first morning, one knocked one down but it got back up and flew off and wasn't recovered, and the other two kids never were able to get everything lined up for a shot (turkeys behind trees, just out of range, etc). Still a good hunt, and a great time had by all I believe. Some of the kids went fishing mid-day Saturday on one of the landowners ponds and fought the wind as well. Our next goal is to try to get together between now and youth deer season for a summer fishing/fun day kind of trip. I thought I might ask for some ideas here? Bowfishing has been brought up as well. Location ideas would be nice, as we don't have many nice water spots in our part of the state (that takes rainfall!!) Somewhere with cabins/lodging onsite or close by, or with a mix of tent spots would be good. We are figuring that any decent state park sites are probably already booked through summertime. Also, any "private" spots someone may know of might be of interest.
