I can empathize - I once was doing a field survey the day after a heavy rainfall, and the property I visited was downgradient of the local wastewater treatment plant. There were several sewer main access points on the property, and sewage had backed up through the manhole cover at each point. One of the covers had come off completely, so water was flowing up and out in a steady stream. I never saw so many turds and so much unidentified junk.

Oh, and for some reason, there also were dozens of used condoms in the flow. Somebody got busy in a responsible way, I guess.

This reminds of a time when I was a kid and a broken sewer line drained all over our church parking lot in the middle of winter.
