MBUS question

I had a guy send me a PM telling me that my MBUS were mounted backward. Well I know that I could turn the rear sight around

You would need to move the front one to the railed handguard (assuming your rail is solid). The gas block mounting is too low and it will melt the front sight if you get it too hot. You can read that on MagPul's MBUS website under "specs": http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG245/45

Cannot be mounted to a railed gas block due to excess heat issues. Front MBUS must be mounted to a railed fore end on the same plane as the receiver rail.

I guess I never got it. I know how some forums work. I used to be on Pirate 4x4 a bunch and it was the same way. Some people are just like that. Thanks for all your help. I spent some time last night correcting all my mistakes. My only regret was the captain obvious comment I made.
