I find it creepy & I would wonder about someone who believed their autographs held value. But I'm also not a big autograph guy, I think I own 3 or 4 autographed photos.

I know a guy that would write to serial killers in prison to get letters that would hopefully be worth money someday. Discussing it at work once cost him his job.

A few years back my boss at work sent an email to the team letting us know to watch the American Idol auditions for a girl named Carrie Underwood. His son had met her at college and they had been dating but had broken it off a few months prior. They rest is, as they say, history but my old boss still talks to her from time to time. He was pretty proud that his son had, umm, gotten to know her. ;-)
