But then UPS once delived an "ADULT SIGNATURE REQUIRED" package containing a pistol coming back from repair BY HIDING THE PACKAGE IN THE BUSHES ON A RAINY DAY.
Some USPS packages have just disappeared.
FEDEX has taken 5 days to get "Overnight" to Dallas.

Yep, when dealing with any service organization operated by human beings, once in a while one of those human beings is going to do something stupid--or downright dishonest.
Now if we could run the whole thing with "perfect machines...."

Had UPS deliver an "ASR" pkg with a rifle. Nobody home, so they lean it against the front door in plain sight. Was stamped "ASR" and "INSURED" in 8 places on the pkg. Was insured for $10k, thought seriously about calling for tracking on delivery the next day, but decided, it arrived in good condition on the day I expected, so be Happy Happy Happy.

I have had 2 instances with UPS (above and 1 other, actually lost ). Still prefer UPS over FedEx or USPS. Awaiting a pkg now that shipped 3 day ground. Left by FedEx with delivery by USPS. Shipped Tues last week. Tracking shows at local post office with delivery in 7-21 days. ????????????

I'd like to know the 9th and 10th numbers in the tracking number

Long since tossed it. I took the box to the UPS OK supervisor with a complaint, but the basic answer was "you got the package." It was from Taurus in FL. UPS acknowledged it was coded for ASR.

Have no idea if they took any action with the individual delivery person, who was "not my regular deliveryperson" according to UPS supervisor.

Fact is, all carriers make mistakes.

You wont remember the 100 times they got it right. Just the one time they screwed up.

If you boycotted the carriers that screwed up your deliveries, you'd have ZERO carriers to deal with.

s**t happens.

Six months ago if retailers were to make $400 profit on a rifle they were gougers. Now we're rewarding them. Go figure.

PSA wasn't gouging six months ago, but a lot of local shops decided "F@$% these customers, Imma break it off in em" and a lot of them are now bitching about folks not buying local because they can find better deals online.

Sorry, but if we can't use the term gougers because of capitalism, then local shops shouldn't be able to whine about capitalism when folks get better deals online.

(I know I quoted S4F's post, but this is, BTW, absolutely not directed at BANG or the Fatboys - I still send many folks your way when they ask me about buying guns/accessories because you all didn't $#!+ where you eat - but there are local OSA vendors who price-hiked when times were good for sales and are now wondering where all those sales went).

I use UPS because at the very least it will eventually show up. Usually within quoted delivery date though.
Not so with FedEx out here. They just leave a note (sometimes) and say come pick it up.
