Our fedex driver is batshit crazy. She is lazy as well, but crazy sums it up.

100+ miles apart and we have the same Fedex driver.

There is one distributor that uses Fedex, we don't buy from that distributor unless they call and offer a really popular hard to get item. UPS and USPS get the job done.

I have never had any dealings with FedEx, but I had a recent problem with UPS.

We had several boxes of goods shipped to us and the shipper sent them UPS. I was relieved because the Post Office refuses to deliver anything to my physical address because I have had a P.O. Box for many years. That's a whole other story.

Anyway, we gave them our address, where we have lived for 4 1/2 years, which is just a few blocks from the UPS terminal here. For some reason I never found out exactly why, UPS contacts the Post Office to get our address because apparently they couldn't find us. The Post Office gives them an address where we lived over six years ago, so they try to deliver it there.

After calling UPS several times to try and get them to just leave it at the terminal so we could pick it up, we were finally able to get our packages.

During this entire time, UPS never called or sent an email trying to find out where we were. If we had not contacted them and worked on it from our end, we probably would have never received the shipment.

Haha... guess what I just noticed...

They also "corrected" my phone number... to a number I haven't had in two years. AND in the "directions" area, they put an alternate delivery location of my previous employer from 4 years ago...

I dislike the fedex as well and prefer the doodoo brown truck. Several times with fedex I get the card in mailbox that says they tried to deliver and I was freaking home!

I'm an operations manager for a FedEx contractor, and cannot stand it when I try to deliver a package to someone, and they are not there. I leave them a door tag, and 2 hours later I get a call from the people saying they were home. They always accuse the driver of leaving the tag, and not knocking which is BS. Do you really think the driver doesn't want the package off of the truck? Hell yeah I want it off. I don't have to work around it, and I don't have to reattempt it the next day. I will not have any of my drivers go back and reattempt if the person says they have a door tag.

As for the other problems, it all comes down to the person who is running the route. Its amazing how many incompetent people come through the door. We try to weed them out, but occasionally one gets through. If someone is being an idiot and has integrity issues while performing their job, I'll send em out the door on the spot. It all comes down to personal responsibility and taking ownership of their job.

FedEx drivers knock and run faster than the best ding dong ditchers. There is a real chance that the customers are home.

Can't spend all day at the door. They are supposed to fill out the door tag, so they are usually there for at least 30 seconds. You've got to realize, these guys do 120-200 stops per day. If we were to wait for a minute or two each time, these guys wouldn't ever get to spend time at home with their families. If your not getting the appropriate time to get to the door, feel free to call and make a request, or even file a complaint. I promise you the complaints go somewhere, and we are penalized heavily for it.

Fedex needs to admit that they cannot handle the workload and hire more drivers. I'm sorry, but allowing 30 seconds for a person to get to the door is hardly justification for calling them liars when they tell you they were home. Obviously, Fedex has lowered their standards for service over the years.

I will say this about FedEx, there have been several times I have had large packages delivered when I was home and they did not ring the doorbell, they just left it on the porch.
