It's been a long time since I went to the big gun show. For those of us who have been out of the loop, what can you old timers advise?

Parking. I have a large pickup truck. Long and wide. Do the parking spots accomodate large vehicles? Or are they more for itty bitty cars? Do they still have the shuttle service?

Firearms. Do they require you check your CCW at the door, zip tie everything?

Do all vendors take credit cards?

Buying guns. I seem to remember that if you see a gun you want, buy it, because a) you might not remember where you saw it and b) it likely won't be there when you come back.

Discount coupons. Anything I can print off online? How much is the entrance fee?

Paperwork. I'll take preprinted receipts in case I find a private party who is selling what I want.

Pistol cases. Just in case.

Bore light.

Other than wearing comfortable shoes, any other advice?

Thanks.

Parking. I have a large pickup truck. Long and wide. Do the parking spots accomodate large vehicles? Or are they more for itty bitty cars? Do they still have the shuttle service? There were alot of trucks there last year so the spaces must have been fairly accommodating. I don't remember a shuttle last year, I hoofed it from pretty far away. Again, get there early for better parking.

Firearms. Do they require you check your CCW at the door, zip tie everything? According to the website for the show they check CCW at the door but no bullets allowed. You can leave them in your car or they'll hold them for you.

Do all vendors take credit cards? Depends on the vendor but they'd be crazy not to at that show.

Buying guns. I seem to remember that if you see a gun you want, buy it, because a) you might not remember where you saw it and b) it likely won't be there when you come back. Was it this table here or the one 3 miles away? But it when you see it unless you want to chance finding one cheaper elsewhere.

Discount coupons. Anything I can print off online? How much is the entrance fee? No sign of coupons, $10 at the door or if you buy tickets early.

Paperwork. I'll take preprinted receipts in case I find a private party who is selling what I want.

Pistol cases. Just in case.

Bore light.

Other than wearing comfortable shoes, any other advice? Gas mask? Or an air freshener tied around your neck.

Thanks.

My responses are in red.

Go to 2A or any other place that sells advanced tickets, and get them ahead of time. Then you can catch all of the dirty looks from the half-mile long line of folks waiting to buy tickets, as you walk past them and into the show.

This is good advice and it's cheaper that door pricing. If you forget to get your tickets early or need to renew your NRA membership that booth next to ticket window is also a fast track in the door.

Oh.. And bring lots of money!

I am on the fence about going to this show Wannemakers. I have never been and I am about being talked out of going by the posts on this board. I don't need anything. So I am asking why put myself through the hassle?

Bring Cash, last time there were people outside selling tickets so you wouldn't have to wait at the ticket counter but you had to have exact change. Never worried about the lines still gotta wait to have your guns zip tied at the door anyways.

If you have never been you are depriving your self of an experience that firearm folks from all of the 48 continental States drive to experience. People from other countries fly here just for that show.
