so, just to tattle on myself.
way, way back in antiquity when I was a youthful offender not yet caught
I went into the local TG&Y store to buy a box of .38
I told the clerk to give me a box of .38S&W as that's what I had a 38 Smith and Wesson............
she gave me exactly what I wanted 38.S&W...............

So off I go to the Canadian river for some plinking.........and the darn stuff would not fit..............

FIL had a good laugh at my expense and explained to me that .38S&W was not the same as a .38 special Smith and Wesson.......

I have been in a store - cant recall which one - and asked for .260 Remington and they looked at me like I had 2 heads and said "you mean .270?"
I said no, .260.

Was in Wally world(way back when old man Sam was in charge). A ~20 yo asked the clerk for some .44 SPL. She gives him a box of .44 Mag. He starts to pay and I stop him, told him it was the wrong ammo. He looks at it and asked the clerk. She says that is the only .44 they carry because it was the only .44 there was.
I asked what gun he had. The clerk asked me to leave. I told the kid to NOT buy and left. (after talking with the mgr, who was a bigger moron than the clerk).
The kid came out, was parked next to me. He had a Charter Arms Bulldog and had bought the Mags. He was pissed when the cylinder wouldn't close. Took them back in and clerk refused to refund.
I was waiting in the parking lot for him to come out. Ended up buying the box of ammo from him and sent him to Academy with what he needed to buy.

Taurus poly semi autos are crap.

Their slab sides aren't regarded much better.

'True story – I once had a Taurus PT1911 turn into a machine gun. It was kind of rad and I’ve not shot a Taurus 1911 since.' Caleb, Gun Nuts

Happy New Taurus ...here we go again....its Got to be operator...Ive Never had a prob other then my BIL putting a 40 in a 45.
Now granted Ive only had the newer improved editions PT140 (G27)..PT1911SS (this is the one my BIL shot a 40 through) an 38 Ultralite (airweight j-frame)...SS38..856 (6 shot j-frame)

The mags cost too much for the pt140...traded for WASR AK 47

Traded the 1911 for a Ruger mini 14...gettin into "the black gun fever"

The 856 I still carry with a G30

Ultralite is Wifeys

Both revo's have had trigger jobs and dependability checks.

Ya have to know your equipment, and How to Make it work for You...(multiple guns..8/ )

(If my budget was better I might buy better tool, until then , I Have to make the Tools I have Work...LOL)

Back on track..ammo...I dont buy it at waldo's.. we got Academy now... ;)

Bringing up wheel guns that you've paid for 'trigger jobs' and 'dependability checks' (whatever that is) doesn't change the fact that Taurus poly semi autos are crap.

Source: I've owned three. All were crap.

Save your money, buy a Glock or M&P. Never have trouble again.

It's kind of like when someone mentions the perfection of Wilson Combat, there's always that one guy that brings their Rock Island Armory bs into the thread... lmao

There's nothing wrong with shooting within your budget. I'd have it no other way. I've welcomed shooters out to my land time and time again to shoot, and there have been many Taurus/Jiminez/Kimber/Chiappa/HiPoint/Mossberg/KelTec/etc... shot out there. Fun and good times were always had. I never made fun of anyone for shooting what they brought... hell, I shot em too. I like to share my sport, and when I can, let others shoot real guns when I get the opportunity.
