You joke, but several years back, there was representative who thought exactly that, and said so. I think she was from Georgia, or one of the Carolinas.
It's inevitable that some corporation will try to make a profit from this. I can see it now . . . 'brewed with pure ant-artic water' - the new "Berg Beer"!
i never understood the climate change denier thing -- i mean, with few exceptions, the scientific opinion is nearly unanimous. Global warming is real, caused by human activity, and very dangerous for the environment we need to live off of.
I understand if you work in the gas industry or enjoy driving around in a big truck( as i do), there would be reason to want it to be false.
but it's almost like those 9/11 'truthers' that think Bush flew cruise missiles into the twin towers.
You might believe that, but I've repeatedly asked several important questions and the answers to those questions have never surfaced. The reason for that is because "unanimous scientific opinion" doesn't have the answers to those questions, and neither do those of you who believe them.
Simply put, let us know when you or anyone else can answer those questions. Until then...
The warmers always have a 10 year agenda until the world comes to an end as we know it.
In January, 2006 — when promoting his Oscar-winning (yes, Oscar-winning) documentary, An Inconvenient Truth — Gore declared that unless we took “drastic measures” to reduce greenhouse gasses, the world would reach a “point of no return” in a mere ten years. He called it a “true planetary emergency.” Well, the ten years passed today, we’re still here, and the climate activists have postponed the apocalypse. Again.
Ever seen any of these 10 year apocalypse's actually come true?
//sniff, sniff// The . . the earth isn't flat?A couple of things. First, the world has taken measure, even drastic, to reduce greenhouse gasses. The world, including the U.S. with the limited exception of the far-right, has accepted the overwhelming proof of anthropogenic climate change. Second, the "point of no return" is not when the event will happen, it's when the event becomes inevitable. If a plane has enough fuel to fly 10,000 miles, the point of no return is after flying 5001 miles. The plane can still fly 4999 miles before running out of fuel. Thankfully, the world accepting the reality of anthropogenic climate change and taking “drastic measures” has moved the point of no return out for some time.
Americans overwhelmingly believe that global warming is happening, and that carbon emissions should be scaled back.
Majorities in all 40 nations polled say climate change is a serious problem
There's no need to even debate the reality of anthropogenic climate change. But know that if you are a denier, you are in a very, very small isolated group. Like anti-vaxxers, 9/11 truthers, birthers, flat earthers, etc..
