I have inherited a few guns. Most I know about, some I don't. One of them is a Colt 1911 made in 1969. The original plastic grips self-destructed, it now sports generic wood grips. The rest of the gun is in great condition, and I will end up selling it. Where to get replacement grips? Will they add value? What's it worth with/without the original grips?

To a serious collector, original grips may matter. Other than beautiful condition, I see nothing "special" about that piece, standard govt model and those grips are fine. Just my opinion, I've never been a pert, so not an expert, but that is a sweet example of a Colt Govt Model.
