What is your favorite hunting round in the 7mm/.284 family? I’ve been shooting hand loaded Nosler 120 grain Ballistic Tip in my .284 Win with great results. I recently picked up a new 28 Nosler and looking into 150-180 grain bullet options. I’m debating on continuing use of the Ballistic tip since I’ve had such great success, but wanted to see what everyone is shooting in magnum cartridges.

TIA!

Been using 160gr Accubonds in my .280AI for years and years, still considerably slower than your 28 Nosler though. The 180 gr and 200gr Accubonds have always held up out of my 30-378, they're a tough bullet imo, the 180 ballistic tips didn't always stay together out of the 30-378.

Not sure what your hunting with the 28 Nosler but if elk are on the menu Bergers 195 grain OLE Elite Hunter would fit the bill. Or you can try any of their hunting bullets from 140 grain to 180 grain. I've harvested many deer/antelope with both their 168 and 180 grain hunting VLD's with great success. Their hunting bullets are a little pricy but they will lay the wood to whatever you shoot.

Thanks for the replies and ideas fellas! It has a 1-8” twist heavy sporter barrel. I was thinking 150-168 for deer and antelope, and maybe using 175-195 for elk.

i shoot 195gr bergers , 88gr rl33, col 3.65 3140fps , shot an elk last year at 325 yrds , dropped him in tracks , i am looking for some 175 gr but cant find them , the 28 shoots very well with heavier bullets , even the 150gr is almost to fast for deer size game , would make a massive hole , the 195 berger is made to penetrate 3-4 inches then rapidly expand and stop in 18 inches , mine did not leave other side of elk , all the energy stayed in the animal , very happy with the results
