9mm might expand . .45 isn't going to get smaller . Always wanted to post that somewhere . I own both and it's a ridiculous comparison .

You have been given quite a bit of facts now go down to the range and shoot both and see what works for you.

I have several of each and like both for what they are, however with the performance ammo out now the 9mm has a lot to offer. Its fast and easier to manage recoil to get to your next shot. Pretty much a well placed shot with either should be sufficient. In 45 my two favorite are HK-45C and Kimber Team USA either is poetry in motion.

38 super is a nice pistol caliber, i've mostly owned remington, colt 45ACP. had a Hi Power once, but just didn't like it. was issued a remington 45ACP in 1966 ( i didn't give up M14 tho ) , always considered it to be the next to last line of defense, just before you go to knives or e-tools. rifles for me these days
