edwards: I have an 18" bbl on my Grendel and AR and I really like it. However, it is extra weight, so it depends on what you want to do with the rifle. What are your plans for the rifle...deer or hog hunt, long range, personal defense, etc????

I'm primarily interested in the round as a long range firearm. I'm personally trying to decide between 20" and 18". I think 24" is just too long to be useful in a gun I might potentially take a pig or two with and 16" seems too short to really get the full potential out of it. Also, what are you guys thoughts on the differences between cut and button rifling on a longish range AR?

Weight is obviously not a big concern on that rifle^.

Yeah, it weighs 12 lbs unloaded...good thing I'm in shape and it really doesn't bother me!

18" AA barrel, and a bunch of other stuff. Some kind of scope, a black one I guess. A little prongy muzzle thing. Upper with the puller deal on the side...

Thanks. I knew what I wanted it to look like before I ordered the first part. Took me 2 years to get it built, but it came out perfect.

The color is Brownells Coyote brown Alumahyde II

Starting to look good! Before you install your lpk, you might think about sending your trigger group to Bill Springfield in CO to have him work it over. It costs me $59 and he dropped it down to a 3.5-4 lb pull and its nice and smooth. I'm sure its not nearly as nice as an after market drop in trigger but it didn't cost nearly as much either.

I've heard a lot of good things about his work and have considered it, but on this one I think I'm going to put a Geissele or Timney trigger in it. Although pretty different, I just can't decide which one. I've got almost all the other parts in mind (not ordered) that I want except for the trigger and the stock. Just can't decide.
