Does anyone have a special recipe they use for their tumbler media? I have seen everything from white rice to cat litter, but have little experience with anything but corn husk.

Vibratory? Corn cob and a small cap of car polish. Save a used fabric softner dryer sheet to add in, it helps prevent dust on the brass.
Crushed walnut isn't necessary IMO.
Same here. I have two vibratory polishers. One is a smaller unit, and I put walnut in it for the really tarnished brass. The others go into the bigger polisher with corn cob and polish.

Corn cob with a LITTLE BIT of nufinish. Dryer sheets as needed
As an addition to your remarks, Run the polisher with the top off for an hour after adding the polish so it can dry and bind to the media. Trust me, if you don't you will be using steel wool on the brass to wipe the gummy polish and dust residue off the brass. Only made that mistake once!

Walnut Hulls Petsmart reptile section. Add a cap sm tumbler or two for lg tumbler of polish. Run open hour or so. Add a used fabric softener.
I use the same from petsmart. Big bag for reasonable price. Was curious what polish you use and do you run with the top off like the other poster suggested?
