It appears that when we got rid of the 3.2 beer back in 2019 that the beer buckets went away.

“- Why will my local bar only sell me two beers at a time, instead of the bucket of beer I used to be able to buy? The laws that govern full-strength beer, wine and liquor sales restrict the number of open, full-strength drinks you can purchase at a time from an on-premise retailer, like a bar or restaurant. So, buckets of beer are no longer available in Oklahoma for the time being.”

Open beers is the loophole. Bars never stopped selling buckets if they were un capped or they were breaking the law.
I have a liquor license and know a thing or 2

I’ve not come across any place that sold buckets before that wasn’t still selling buckets of beer. Not naming names cause I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but that never changed at the places I went to.

I didn’t know it wasn’t strictly legal, and I’m sure they didn’t either. Weird.

I think that's referring to buckets with five bottles of beer in them,,,
They traditionally served all of the bottles opened,,,
So there had to be more than one person.

Oklahoma had the law saying there could only be two open beers,,,
In front of one customer at any given time.

Is it that the law changed allowing more than two open beers for one person.

Now this isn't "law" but when Oklahoma went to 5 or 6 point beer,,,
Eskimo Joe's and Mexico Joe's both adopted a new "policy",,,
Where they wouldn't sell a full pitcher to one person.

One restaurant/bar owner told me,,,
It was against state law to drink directly from a pitcher,,,
You had to first poor the beer into a glass before you could drink it.

Go figure,,,

Home brewing was illegal in OK until 2010. All these alcohol laws are leftover democrat oppression laws from the early 20th century. Don’t forget that 40 years ago this state was barely kind of purplish and 50 years was blue AF and republicans were considered scum
