What did Bush have to complain about when he took office? There wasnt much he could blame Clinton for. The economy was ridin high, debt was down, unemployment down, Bosnian war wound down. Bush had it good.

Obama, not so good. Elect Mittens, he'll blame Obama, and itll still be a mess. Thanks Georgie.

clinton had it good becaue the house and senate were not controlled by democrats. bush had it good til dems took over, bush then abandoned the free market principles in order to save the free market <--my fave lame presidential excuse ever!
consensus all politicians still suck.

Not my point.

Lurker claimed that everything was rosy when Bush came into office. It wasn't...we were heading into a recession that lasted most of 2001. So everything wasn't rosy. We have arguably been in a state of overall decline since before Bush. End of point.

I'll be the first to admit that any single President actually has very little to do with the state of the economy as a whole. Obama doesn't get my vote, not because he didn't turn the economy around, but because of his ideology and his vision of what America should be turned into.

Thats probably one of the most lucid and respectable posts concerning the conservative viewpoint Ive seen on here.

Agreed!

Why don't you libs let G.W. alone? Like him or not, he went home and has kept his mouth closed. You damn sure cannot say that about those two clowns Billy Clinton and Jimmah "Mr. Peanut" Carter. There is a long and undistinguished list of Presidential damagers: Taft, Roosevelt T., Wilson, Hoover, Roosevelt F.D., Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy (had the Handlers let him live he may have been OK), Johnson, Nixon, Carter, and Bush G.H.W. all come to mind.

How soon we forget that the loan "crisis" was created by Dem Libs in Congress. Franksmoker, Skummer, Boxerface, Pahosy, Weed, and the rest.

The economy was heading into the toilet when Bush took office, then 9/11 made it worse. After a bit the economy started to recover (remember the jobless recover talk)
The Dems took over both houses of congress after the 2006 election and the economy started to really slide.

The guy has been in office for 4 years. Its time he takes responsibilities for his failed socialist agenda, and has taken no responsibility for any of his failures. He and his minions keep blaming Bush, but when Steve Jobs had a meeting with the obummer, he told him that a leader MAKES things happen. Jobs had many negative things to say about that meeting even though he was a life long democrat.

But Dennis, You just saw RickN blame an eight year Republican train wreck on the Democrat that preceded him. Can't a Democrat blame four years on his predacessor? Come on. Why can't you guys get on the same page?

Where did I blame Clinton???? I did not.

Well, then you and Rick need to put your heads together and find a statement that the both of you can rest on. I don't know where the problem is. It's something you guys have to work out between yourselves.

So, then explain how obummer has acquired 6 trillion in deficit, when he said he would cut the deficit in half in his election campain?

Is he a leader or a complainer?

You blamed the situation. The situation. Maybe nobody is ever to blame for anything. it sounded like you wanted Dubya off the hook. Thats ok

As someone posted earlier and I have said here many times, the prez usually has little to do with the economy. It is congress mostly, a little of the situation, and a some of government regulations that control the economy. And yes Bush should mostly be let off the hook for the economy. Same as Obumbler. Bush's big mistake on the economy was not vetoing a lot more bills and spending from Congress. Obumbler's is the same plus too much trying to make the greenie weenies happy.
