Certificate Expiration...

How long is your cert good for after you take your CCW class? I took my class back in '06 and joined the military shortly after, and some other stuff, and never got around to filing my paperwork. I found it this weekend, and was wondering if you have a time limit.

I have read through and can't find anything that says if your certificate is good. Of course I wouldn't want to send that kind of money in, only to have them reject it, non refundable. Somebody else in here will be able to answer you shortly.

Had this question before and called OSBI. They didn't give me a reference but verbally told me 3 years.

I have been told the cert never expires from a guy who just took the class 3 weeks ago and the question was asked how long they have to get their CCW, the guy said the certificate never expires, only the license.

I have my course next weekend so I can ask it again then for you to be sure.

There is no written expiration...at least not that anybody who says it expires has ever been able to produce.

As several members have suggested, call OSBI and make sure your certificate will be approved before submitting your paperwork.
