Slow crawling/trail riding creates a lot of heat. And Jeep Hoods/Engine Bays hold in so much heat to the point of boiling the gas in the injectors. Every Jeep I have built I have installed this type of hood vent, so no longer get boogered up on cutting a perfect hood!

Just finished it up. Now no heat issues!

I've wondered how well those actually work, good huh?

They help immensely! I have bought the more expensive “Poison Spider” brand before, but this is as good and more economical. Also don’t know why the ad states just 97 to 02, as the 03, 04, 05 and 06 are identical. The Jeep I am using now and in the photos above is a 04 and it fit perfect.

I thought about doing this and even bought the vent. Think there would be issues with rain in a daily driver?

After installing my winch bumper, I used the fog light switch as the switch to turn my electric fan on and bypass the temp thermal switch.

I just turn the fan on low while wheeling and it stays at 190*.

I also fabbed up an electric Lincoln high flow fan to install, but haven’t really needed the extra airflow at this point.

No issues with rain on any of mine. Smart on override on the fan, especially if it’s a auto!
