I'm only seeing 9 injection wells in that area and not one of them are disposal wells. They are old, shallow (about 6000') enhanced recovery wells. They aren't causing any earthquakes unless they've been going on since the '90s when they were drilled.

You mention "that area" here, but if you have a chance could you be more specific?

Well just woke up to another one. The USGS has it at a 4.2 with the epicenter near Covell and Sooner; same area as the one a couple days ago. And, at nearly the exact same time.

For those interested you can view a map of registered wastewater injection wells as well as earthquakes here:

If you toggle on a year or more of earthquakes you have to give it a few seconds to add that earthquake layer.

Over on the right bottom you can toggle on the wastewater injection well layer.

If you zoom in it looks like this:

The quake on the left is today's quake and the one on the right is from 2 days ago.
