The non native vegetation is the main problem. The prarie chicken are long gone and the quail/rabbit are getting thin.I recently saw a redtail catch a 6`bull snake and fly away it was awesome

From where? The lesser prairie chicken still exists in the OK Panhandle. Not in historical numbers, but they're around.

Ellis co. the old farmer said they were thick until the last 20 years.Wildlife biologists did a study on his land a long time ago about the absence of the prarie chicken as it was one of the best areas for hunting them their conclusion was barbed wire. He kept journals on all conditions since the '20s.With this rain the grass could be 4' tall this fall. It has scrub oaks in it as well. They burned it recently so that has helped.
