It is obviously a manufactured part, possibly painted, not machined to great tolerances or surface finish so it cannot be in the firing mechanism.

Am I right so far?

Is it used in a firearm?

Is it a usable part? That is a part that is used up and replaced infrequently?

It's not painted. It's used in a firearm,, not by one. Not a consumable but everything can wear out and need replacing.
