Actually, a similarly sad song was "Feleena" by Marty Robbins. It tells the story of the girl in the song "El Paso."

The last lines are like 7 Spanish Angels...

"Feleena knelt near him, to hold and to hear him
When she felt the warm blood that flowed from the wound in his side
He raised to kiss her and she heard him whisper
"Never forget me - Faleena it's over, goodbye."
Quickly she grabbed for, the six-gun that he wore
And screamin' in anger and placin' the gun to her breast
Bury us both deep and maybe we'll find peace
And pullin' the trigger, she fell 'cross the dead cowboy's chest."

now your talkin. one of my favorites. my dad actually turned me on to seven spanish angels but we listened to marty robbins at a young age. couldn't wait for that song to loop through the 8 track

RicKN, if you were deaf, like I am you would be glad to hear any song. My computer monitor hears better than I do. The world is silent I don't even know what the songs you guys are talking about sound like.

No offense intended, and frankly when it comes to Willies singing you have not missed anything.

Willie is an incredible songwriter, and he's a pretty good singer (when he's actually singing the song he's singing). One of the few lines I remember from the series Monk happened on Willie's tour bus, when Monk started to say "I smell..." and Willie said "I don't smell anything. And neither do you."
