Sadly I have seen this behavior (with guns and other items) and it sure does p--- me off. When LoneWolf'49 passed we (and another gun couple) spent the day helping his wife figure out what he had stashed and what it was worth. Then when folks started showing up to buy stuff I got so mad I could have bit the heads off a bunch of nails. Some guys (even some guys from here) are just assholes. They were low-balling her like crazy. I will NOT let that happen to Mrs. RickN. You tell her to call me and Scott. I'll kick ass and name names ... That kind of stuff infuriates me.
It doesn't have to be a death either.
I've seen a person get sick or injured to where they probably won't be hunting with hard kicking rifles any more and upon hearing the news, here come their so-called FRIENDS to low-ball them on the guns.
The "friends" don't even call and offer to pick up anything they might need from the store or run an errand for them, just show up with a quick "sorry to hear about your health" before making an insulting offer on "that old ---- (gun)" that's not supposed to be worth much.
Sometimes gun enthusiasts are the biggest illegitimate children in the world.
