W. OK has a lot to offer also. Alabaster Caverns up north if you like spelunking, Little Sahara if you like dune buggies, Black Mesa if you like 1. climbing, 2. dinosaur stuff, what's the fort near El Reno where Custer stayed awhile and Ft Sill Artillery museum if you like military history, Wichita Mts if you like unique scenery (nothing else quite like the Wichitas anywhere in else in the world that I've ever been), climbing, hiking, fishing, and other nature stuff. Charon's Gardens Wilderness Trail is an absolutely amazing 4 mile hike, esp after a rain and there is a water flow over Post Oak Falls. Turner Falls and Arbuckle Wilderness are a couple of other great places in OK. Duncan has the Chisolm Trail Museum and a ton of antique stores. That's not a bad list for some one from SE corner of the state. I've been to all of the above, and they all make great getaways.
