Rotflmao. I can't speak about a 30# Striper because big ones should be released if they will survive. Striper 7 or 8 pounds and under are excellent table fare and can be prepped very quickly if you know how to fillet them properly.
Ah, I bet it's due to not removing the blood vein in the filet. That makes a HUGE difference in all white-meat fish.

He probably doesn't remember but I met Jon at the Buncombe cafe last year and he gave me a ton of good info on deadsticking. Before lunch we had 0 fish in the boat and after lunch we got a 3 man limit.

I saw where a woman caught a 24.7 on Thursday to break the lake record. Is this a new one today? The last couple weeks have seen some monsters caught for sure.
