Once upon a time, I used to keep a few cheap 4x32 1" tube scopes around to mount on .22 rifles. I used to be able to buy them anywhere from $5 up to $15 - with rings - depending on brand.

But now the cheapest I can find are $25 and up - without rings! Even the 4x15 3/4" tube scopes are over $15 - they used to practically give those away.

We are truly doomed.

lol, I’m a good glass guy on every rifle but one.
A sporterized 7.7 Jap with a .300 savage rebarrel that has one of the Weaver K4, 4x wire reticles with no nitrogen to prevent fogging.
It’s amazing how far optics have came from that K-4 to now.
For the record, that .300 Savage has taken a couple does with that scope.
