Not trying to start a war, but it looks like I have two options for shooting this weekend. Steel Challenge at Oil Cap, or Pro-Am at USSA. I have been to both facilities for IDPA and IPSC matches.

I would like to know the differences between the matches, they both involve a bunch of steel, but that's as far as my knowledge of them goes.

Thanks, see ya at one of them!

1st of all, both are very fun.
Steel Challenge is 'stand and shoot' at 5 static steel targets.
Its a series of 5 strings at each stage, your worst time is thrown out.
The shots are all fairly easy, the object is to develop speed.
Very, very, friendly for newer competitors. If you choose to shoot SC with rimfire, you dont even need a holster.

Pro-Am is set up similar to a USPSA stage but with all knock down steel targets. There is a par time set for each stage...try to shoot as many of the targets as possible inside the par time. Ultra fun.
