They just reported on a musician who accidentally killed himself while getting his hunting rifle out of his vehicle. They said he was a big name in a Texas outlaw country music movement, but I didn't recognize the name or any of the songs they mentioned...

Possibly. Like I said, I didn't recognize the name or the songs they mentioned, but it sounded like he was someone of importance in that scene.

ETA: Yep, that's him. I checked the Wikipedia article, and it mentions the "Texas Trilogy," which was mentioned in the NPR piece.

years ago they had Southwest Shooters tapped off & i may not recall correctly but I thing a guy was taking his shotgun to the gunsmith had a jammed shell or something & it went off & killed him as he took it out of his car
