I haven't been to an Olive Garden in a couple of months until today. I had lunch at the OG across from Penn Square Mall. I noticed they now have two reserved parking spots near the front door for police officers.

I haven't heard anything about this but hope it's a classy move by OG in response to the Kansas City BS a few months ago when an employee asked a cop to leave because he had a gun. Anybody see this reserved parking at other Olive Garden's?

Not an Olive Garden but the Walmart neighborhood market in war acres now has a few parking spots reserved for law-enforcement, and I have seen the local police officers hammer somebody with a ticket for parking there.

I like parking in those special snowflake parking spots...very convenient.

Only ones I don't mess with are the handicapped ones.

Unless there's a city ordinance, I wonder under what statute they do that?

What does it matter. I've got no problem with individual businesses doing what they want with their private property, including reserving privileges for a few. There may be some bad apples here and there in the police force but most of these guys put their lives at risk on a daily basis to protect the public. I'm glad these businesses recognize their contribution with perks.
