Jeepers! You should check out Argentine Osage Orange. Similar appearance and working properties, and the trees grow bigger and straighter so the wood is cheaper. I bought a 8’ slab 8/4 thick, about 20-24” wide, for some $250.

Yes, the infamous Mega lower group buy. Les was his name. Someone mentioned him shooting himself, but that was his best friend TJ who was also a member here. Back in the 2007-2008 years.
Many of us shot the Oil Capital rifle matches back then. Met lots of people at Oil Capital back in the days.
