Sweet gig that lets you "Retire" after 10 months ...
He's retiring, but on his own, not from OU; from the University's perspective, he's just resigning. He doesn't come close to having enough service credit to qualify for OU retirement, not that that's anything to write home about. Even if he qualified for retirement, he's in the "so long, it's been nice knowin' ya, don't let the door hit ya on the way out" category--basically, he'd get a free parking permit, and that's about it.

This man was Never an upward moble. He was known to have been astraight shooter. Shame on the OU regents for not letting him get the job done . Now they have an Upward Mobile butt licker. What a mess!

I doubt that the Regents had anything to do with him leaving. And who gives a rip what anyone does with another consenting adult? That's not worth wasting University resources on investigating (except for the cases where he has been accused of making unwanted advances).

Gallogly probably just discovered that the job is a lot harder and more thankless than he'd expected; leading in higher education is nothing like leading in private industry. It's not better or worse, it's just different, and not everybody is cut out for it--especially coming in cold like he did.

FWIW, Harroz came to OU with Boren, but he was also working closely with Gallogly. He is also only an interim president, and interim presidents rarely become the President of OU.
