It says it's a 1/4HP motor which isn't super-great, but it's ok, I guess. Blade looks to be 9.75", slices in thickness up to about 1/2", it looks like.</p><p></p><p>So... I knew she had one she was looking to get rid of so I asked her about it and she was trying to describe it, so I just went over and looked and she made me take it home. Said I could consider it my Christmas gift. Oh well. I probably would have bought a bigger one if I were purchasing, but I think it'll do, at least for now. She says it is a commercial grade unit, all steel, etc. Her late husband liked to buy decent stuff. I don't know how heavy duty this one is - supposedly "commercial grade" units are belt-driven, which I doubt this one is. I haven't taken it apart to look inside.</p></blockquote><p></p>
