I think it would be a bad idea to shoot anything other then what the gun was designed for. Sorry, but IMO a 300 winn mag is not an overkill for whitetail deer, if you shoot them where you are suppose to which is right behind the shoulder. It tears up no more meat then a 243.

I'm not aware of any other round you can shoot in a .300 win mag. Now if he changes the barrel thats a different story.

Jimmy also uses either a 155 howitzer or a stinger missle for backup for his deer blinds. No gun is too much gun for whitetails and Jimmy..
