Geez
I read on another forum it was estimated at 43 yards. Apparently the 1st shot was fatal, but the perp wouldn’t stop moving so Master Dicken kept shooting him till he stopped.

When I was training for competition, my first ten rounds and last ten rounds were on an IDPA target at 50 yards, just to stay grounded on the basics.Gah damn!
I may have to try the Dicken Drill next range trip. See if I can even do it. Lol
I would be hesitant to engage at that distance. Maybe with my red dot? That being said, training at further distances will definitely be on the agenda going forward.
The furthest I have engaged targets is reactive plates at ~20 yards. I had to aim slightly above them to consitantly hit them all.
I think the ”under stress” part is the huge unknown variable. It's really not as hard as you think, at least not under stress. Just f'ing around with a pistol in one hand and a phone in the other, and no suppressor sights. I'm sure many here could do a lot better. Not 40 yards but the principal is still the same. Props to the good guy for hits under stress.
