Yep, probably an adult brown snake. My kids chase them all over the yard. Great fun for the kids. They eat bugs and worms. (The snakes, not the kids...that I know of...)

As posted above, I grew up calling it the Decay but both fit, a bug, worm eater. Chickens will gobble them down when they come across them.

Good afternoon. I’ve found several of these on the new hunting place south of Ninnekah. I think this is a rat snake but am unsure as I am new to hunting this area. Anybody know the ID on this guy?? The critter pictured was long- 4ft or so and on the road getting warm when he met a car I’m guessing.

First one is a Dekays Brown snake and the one from today is a bull snake.
