I had one put in the master bathroom and its great. Gives a nice easy on the eyes light during the day. Paid to have it installed cause it has to run up through the attic; and then there's the roof piece...not enough duct tape exists to stop leakage if I had tried to do the "Bubba Install" method and do it myself.

One of my rental homes has a couple. I'm amazed at the amount of light they produce...

Roof was totaled during last hail storm and not a single crack on either tube.

If you need light in a dark area, it'll light it up like a 150 watt bulb.

I've had two shops with them. They do light up a space very handily. As for the cost effectiveness, if I didn't need lots of natural light in spaces unreachable by windows, I wouldn't have put them in. You can run a lot of light bulbs for a long time for what one SolaTube costs. Do the math if the expense is an issue for you. Otherwise, they are great. Were I a rich man, I'd have them all over my house.
