strange call I didn't answer

A strange call this morning.
I didn't answer.
The caller id said it was me calling
with my name and number shown.
Anybody had something like this?
Can telemarketer make something like this happen
or was I calling home from another dimension?

Spoofing allows you to enter a number you want it to show on caller ID.

Yeah the telemarketers have learned to combine tools and look up a number then call it,with the added attraction of it being the same number.
Well at least you know you don't need to call back..

I keep reminding my wife, the do not call list only works if never give an internet sales store your number, because they know we are mostly not going to read the entire user agreement and decipher the part where it says they sell your information.

Debt collectors can make the caller ID say anything they want it to. Including letters

I saw a Twilight Zone episode like this. A man (Bruce Willis I think) is away from home and needs to phone someone. Accidentally, he phones his own home by mistake. And, he answers. The entire episode was him having a conversation with himself. Eerie.
