You may be the only person I've ever heard take a "socialism is weak" message from The Grapes of Wrath.
I think that's why people ignore that subplot. Well, and the boobies part too. It totally harshes the mellow that Steinbeck was fully in the bag and brainwashed for socialism. Sure, he was a big proponent of more government, but even he recognized that 'robbing peter to pay paul' had limits.
Our boobs may be so full of milk that we think we're doing ourselves a favor by feeding the current starving generation, but unless we are using our fun bags to foster successive generations, it's really just perverse. THE END.
