There are currently 35884 deer checked for 2013/2014 Hunting Season.
There are currently 168 turkey checked for 2013/2014 Hunting Season.
There are currently 40 elk checked for 2013/2014 Hunting Season

Why does online check in need to go away?

It opens up more ability for fraud.
Ie; I shoot one too many deer, oh I'll get my "whatever person I know that's not hunting"
To check it in online. No big deal.
That's one reason.
Second that comes to mind:
I'll shoot this deer, (buck or doe it doesn't matter) and I'll take it home and if it's a big buck I'll check it, but if not, no big deal, I'll take it home and cut it up, and still have my buck tag. Or they might just go shoot 20 doe and no one would even know.
Some will and do, take advantage of a great tool. I've seen it happen.
