You only have one "mutha," go buy her anew one-they're cheap and she'll appreciate your thoughtfulness. My "mutha" is gone.

I know there is a repair shop off of Penn around willshire or north of there.

But I will say if it's a tube or older projection you are better just getting a new one. If it is an LCD then search online as a lot of times it can be very cheap to fix yourself. I got one here on the forums for free and sent a board in for thirty bucks return shipping included and it has worked great.

Neighbors house at the old address was hit by lightning and the power surge traveled over to our house and took out the LAN card on the computer and a 40" LCD TV. I pulled the back off the TV and saw two capacitors were bulged on the smaller of the 2 boards. Wrote down the PN on the board and searched Ebay and found a used one for $50. Installed it and the TV is still working 7 years later.

It's a newer (2yrs old) LG, just out of warranty. She found a shop in Moore to take it to, they will check it out for $35 and if they fix it they will apply the $35 to the repair bill. I told her if the repair is half the cost of the TV, she might as well just get a new one. I researched the repair and it looks like it could be several things, so it would be throw money and hope one fixes it if I tried to replace parts. Now she unhappy cause she got rid of all her old school TVs that lasted 20yrs and this one didn't make it over 2 yrs. lol

my son took his TV to a shop in Moore and they wanted almost as much as a new TV to repair it. Good luck. This was last year...

She got the quote for 225 or so, and decided to just pick it up. They said it needs a "backlight kit". Leds went out I suppose. It's an LG 47LN5200. It has sound, but no picture.
