Believe it or not, we already have people living the SHTF situation. They are called homeless and live in tents down near rivers and such.

Yeah, I'll be honest, I'll be missing hot showers, the ability to heat and cool my home with a few button presses, and mostly the ability to have clean clothes by throwing them in a big machine and pushing a button.
