WHY???

I attended with mons meg and we were impressed with the excellent speakers, interesting subject content, and how very well-run the event was. We learned a lot, met some terrific people, and were supremely disappointed not to see more fellow shooters in attendance.

Please check out the OK2A website at www.OK2A.org to learn more about this organization, sign up for email updates, and join as a paid member to help protect and forward Second Amendment rights in the state of Oklahoma.

And, for heaven's sake, plan to attend next year's conference!

There was a gun show, and the annual OKC Home & Garden Show this weekend, with a crap ton of people out there. Sounds like poor planning on their part, especially with the annual Home & Garden Show going on. I saw lots of people coming from the gun show while I was at the Home & Garden Show, being dragged around by my leash from my wife...

I really wanted to go. . .then a funeral trumped the conference, then this stupid flu bug trumped the funeral. Please believe me when I say I'd MUCH rather have been at the Conference than flat on my back!

How about an update on it? Specifically the Gun Free Zone topic

GFSZ is going to go through some tweeks and then we'll know more. HJR1026/1085 are also probably to see some changes.

The legislators, Tim Tucker, Dr. Lott, and Doug Freizen were all good.

Need more advertising....never heard about it.

This. I didn't hear anything about it until just a few days before. I don't know how far in advance it was planned, but quite often my weekdays need 30 days notice and weekends need 60-90 days notice for me to be able to either put it on the calendar or shift other things around so that it can fit on the calendar.

That and more than a few shooting matches going on the same day...Pawnee Run and Gun, USSA ProAm etc...

Bad advertising and poor scheduling probably.

How many "paid" members is the OK2A up to now?

Probably about 300 paid members or so from what I was told, but about 3000 on the email list. Personally, I am "blown away" by how much they have been able to get accomplished in the 4 or so years they have existed.
