The liquor in grocery stores thread got me to pondering Oklahoma Casinos.
So, why only tribal casinos in Oklahoma? Strictly economic development for the tribes? Limited time before other casinos are allowed in Oklahoma?
I was living in the Galveston/Houston area when casinos first started in Oklahoma, so, I missed the "start up" phase of casinos here.
I know certain casinos lease their name and style to tribes...Hard Rock. Others run casinos like a franchise, like Grand Casino. Will other casinos be allowed in Oklahoma...example: Harrah's, Caesar's Entertaiment, Boyd Gaming...etc?
I don't care if they're over water or even a boat. I wish the indian casinos would get out of classII or class III type gaming and go full blown...like Vegas or like the Alabama Coushatta in Kinder, Louisana..Coushatta Casino.
So, I guess my questions are; Will other/non-tribe casinos be allowed here? If so, when? If so, who? Where?
If Bricktown wants to really make some money, put a casino down along the river or canals and watch the money flow. Really, it may be to late...or to saturated with indian casinos so others can't make a profit?
???
